ONE WEEK DOWN

Last Sunday, Chris left for his 365 day remote assignment to Saudi Arabia.  The day was filled with sadness, tears, hugs, kisses, wine, ice cream and pizza.  And as heartbroken as I was to say goodbye to my husband, I was ready for it to start.  To start counting down and looking forward.  To start wading through the bad days to get to the good days, or at least the "not so bad" days.  And this past week was much better than expected.  We kept busy with the outpouring of love and support from our friends.  We have been able to talk and FaceTime with Chris daily.  The kids seem to be doing ok, SO FAR.  I know as soon as I type this, we'll have an awful day tomorrow.  But hopefully not.

I know that this year is going to be tough.  I know it is going to be heartbreaking.  But I also know that my family is wonderful.  My marriage is as strong as can be and we will be fine.  I know that my kids feel loved and taken care of.  I know that there is so much love between the four of us that we will do more than survive this year. We will come out the other side even stronger than before.  And until then there will probably be lots of tears, wine, ice cream and pizza.

Kentucky Fun

A few fun pics from our trip to KY.  You can see that the kiddos have been having a blast.  And their mommy has really enjoyed the help from family :)

AIRPLANE RIDE

My first time to travel with both kids on an airplane alone.  This was also Anna's first plane ride.  Very successful for all 3 of us.
