DERMATOLOGIST

Happy baby enjoying his carrots!!!

We made it into the dermatologist this past Friday morning. Thank goodness!!! He says that the spots on Alexander's face are, in fact, eczema. He prescribed another antibiotic because the sores were infected and then he also prescribed a little bit higher % of the hydracortizone (apparently we had been using a 1% which is over the counter strength). He also switched us to Cetaphil facial wash and Cetaphil moisturizer for his face. And so far, 3 days later, his face looks much, much better. He still has some redness, but the sores and the oozing are gone!!! Which is fabulous news. This also means that he is not rubbing it nearly as much, so it must not be itching!!! He skin in those spots still look rougher than before and they probably will for a while but it looks sooo much better than before. And most important, he feels better!

We had a nice and quiet weekend. We've been watching lots of Olympic coverage. Chris has been known to catch Olympic Fever and become a bit obsessed, but he's keeping it in check so far this year. We've also starting watching The Soprano's. We're only a couple of episodes into it, but are enjoying it so far. Tonight for dinner, Chris cooked the most delicious meal! It was chicken rolled up with prosciutto, spinach, and Parmesan cheese, served with taboule and salad. It was amazing! I told him that this was my new favorite meal for him to make. I am so lucky to be married to an amazing cook!!!

VALENTINES

This past weekend, Chris was able to get a "good deal" through work and head to Las Vegas with some guys in the squadron. While he was there he was able to meet up with some old friends and he had a great time. Back on the home front, Alexander and I had a nice weekend. On Saturday night, several girlfriends (whose hubby's were also in Vegas) had a Valentines dinner and then came back to our house for some drinks and dessert. I've included a pic of Alexander on his first "Valentine's Day Date" with his friend Audrey. We all thought this was pretty cute!

As you can tell, his face is still not any better. We went to the doctor on Friday and he gave us a new cream. We used this Friday night and then Saturday morning it was much, much worse. I immediately discontinued using this new cream and now we are not using anything. I am just waiting for the dermatology referral to come in the mail. Our doctor put in for it and now we have to wait for it to come in the mail. This could be 7 to 10 days. I am thinking optimistically and hoping we'll get it by the end of the week.

Eating his first cracker.

I couldn't help post another picture of him in his cute diaper!! We're still doing the trial and have had a couple of successful poopy diapers. Definitely not as convenient, but not too bad.

KENTUCKY TRIP AND NEW DIAPERS

Alexander and I just returned from a trip back to Kentucky to visit our family. It is always so nice to get to Kentucky, but feels wonderful to get home and get back to Chris and into a routine again. Alexander did great with all of the travels though. It amazes me how well he handles the transition. I only hope he continues to be this way, it makes traveling so much easier. I didn't really take many pictures at all. I'm not sure why, but my camera didn't really come out very often.
I did get a few pics of him in his new diapers. When Chris and I were making the decision to use disposable diapers before Alexander was born, I was unaware of all of the new hybrid diapers that are out there. And every time I throw out a bag of used diapers it breaks my heart for the earth. So, I've been looking into all of our options and found the Bumgenius diapers. I've been able to get Chris to agree to trying out a couple of the diapers. (He is not super excited about the idea of washing out poop. Who can blame him, really?) So, they came the other day and so far, I really like them. We only have 3 and yesterday was the first day wearing them. He hasn't pooped in them yet, so I'm not sure how that will go, but I have these paper liners that go in that should catch the poo and you can just dump that into the toilet and flush. Anyway, that may be too much info for all of you who don't really care about diapers or want to hear about poo. So, sorry. But check out how cute his little bum is in these diapers. I have to say, that is a huge benefit!!

How cute?!?!

Look at that bum!!! Okay, so Chris wasn't super excited about the Baby Legs that I ordered. Which are basically leg warmers. I of course, LOVE THEM!!

Playing with a card from his Grandma Frostine. It was very entertaining!!

His newest obsession is my cell phone. He absolutely loves to play with it!

ROLL BABY ROLL

Dressed and ready to cheer on the CATS!!!

Eating peas for the first time. He seemed to enjoy them.

Yesterday, Alexander figured out that if he links rolls together he can travel across the room. It was so funny to watch because he only rolls to the left! So if he wants to go to the right he has to roll himself around so that his left side is pointing to the right and then he can go where he wants. He moved himself over in front of the dvd player and started trying to press buttons and then he rolled over to the shelves that house our dvds and started playing with those. I would sit a few feet from him and put out my arms and call to him and he would roll to me. It was so amazing to watch him put all of this together!

Rolled over to the shelves, stopped to explore.

Checking out the electronics.
